
Chris Hipkins, Arden’s education minister, is all set to succeed her as New Zealand’s next Prime Minister. As the sole contender in the race for premiership, Hipkins was unanimously selected as the leader of the Labour Party and as the next Prime Minister of the country. It is suggested that Labour Party MPs rallied behind Hipkins to avoid any chatter about disunity and factionalism in the party, post Jacinda Arden.
