She said that while there exists an expectation for opposition parties to come together and turn against the Modi government, the extreme pressure is on the Congress as they stand at a pan-India level.
All India Congress general secretary of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi talked about their opposition against the Bharatiya Janata Party. She made it clear that as it is just one more year ahead for the next Lok Sabha elections, Congress will display strong resistance to BJP on behalf of the public.
The statement was made at the 85th Congress plenary session held in Chhattisgarh. She said that while there exists an expectation for opposition parties to come together and turn against the Modi government, the extreme pressure is on the Congress as they stand at a pan-India level. The main objective of the party is to spread its people-oriented goals among the public.
Congress workers are also encouraged to unroll the drawbacks and disadvantages of the BJP across the nation.
Mrs, Gandhi declared, “ Now only one year is left for us, there are expectations from us (opposition), that we will unite. All the opposition parties and people whose ideology is opposed to them must fight unitedly. There are expectations from everyone, but the most expectations are from the Congress.”
She acknowledged the hard work of the party workers all over India. It is their input that made the party stand strong against the ruling government. The Congress leader also uplifted the spirit of the party by publicly announcing that the party has great strength to fight against the BJP. She also stressed the fact that to expand this opposition, the effort should begin from the level of the mandala.
