What happened that the Delhi Government decided to Ban 4 Wheelers
Delhi’s air quality on Monday reached a “severe” level as a result of the unfavourable weather. All NCR states are therefore required by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to enforce anti-pollution measures vigorously. The Delhi government has decided to ban the use of 4-wheelers equipped with BS-III gasoline and BS-IV diesel from Tuesday through Friday.
At 4 p.m. on Monday, the Delhi 24/7 Ordinary Air Quality Index (AQI) was 434, up from 371 on Sunday. In the range of 201 to 300, a score is deemed “poor,” 301 to 400, “extremely poor,” and 401 to 500, “severe.
“According to a spokeswoman for the India Meteorological Department, moderate temperatures, gentle winds, and high moisture content kept pollutants contained. The CAQM called an urgent review meeting with representatives from Delhi and the NCR states, including Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, in response to the sudden increase in air pollution, and instructed them to implement the GRAP field’s provisions “more vigorously to prevent further deterioration of air quality.”
The panel emphasised the necessity of dispatching sufficient inspection teams to ensure the execution of the anti-pollution plan.
