At the time of the incident, the journalist was covering the murder scene of a 20-year-old woman in Pine Hills. At the scene, the 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody.
According to officials, on Wednesday, a shooter opened fire on two television reporters who were reporting a homicide close to Orlando, Florida. After killing one and wounding the other, the shooter then killed a nine-year-old girl and injured her mother at a neighboring home.
Shortly after the assaults on the mother and daughter and the TV news team, which took place only a block apart, a suspect named Keith Melvin Moses, 19, was apprehended.
Three people were shot dead on Wednesday in Pine Hills, although no one of the victims have been named. West of Orlando lies a community called Pine Hills. Orange County Sheriff John Mina stated at a press conference that the journalists were “in or near their car.” He added that the car did not have the official appearance of a TV station. Around 4 p.m. local time, or 10 p.m. GMT, the attack occurred.
He stated that a 20-year-old lady was shot and killed inside a car earlier that day, at 11 am local time, as the media were covering the shooting. Eventually, the suspect came back and started shooting at the crime site once more. The nine-year-old child and her mother, who was in the hospital in severe condition, were wounded after the TV journalist was shot by the suspected shooter, Keith Moses.
