India have completely shown their dominance in the four-match Test series and have become the number one team in all three formats after defeating Australia in the first two Test matches.
The beginning of the second Test match proved to be good for Australia. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 263 in the first innings which was a decent total on a turning track. Usman Khawaja scored the highest 81 runs for Australia, while Peter Handscomb scored 72 not out while playing a very good innings.
Can’t say bowling is very good from India’s side but bowled well, Mohammed Shami took four wickets. The same Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets and Ravindra Jadeja also took 3 wickets.
India scored 262 runs in their first innings and finished 1 run behind Australia. Not a good start from India’s side. Only Rahul got out after scoring only 17 runs. At the same time Rohit Sharma was also bowled by Nathan lyon.
Pujara got out for a duck and after that India were in a very bad position. But an excellent partnership between Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja kept India alive in this match. Virat Kohli scored 44 and Ravindra Jadeja scored 26 runs. After that Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin did wonders. Axar Patel scored 74 while Ravichandran Ashwin played an inning of 37 runs, so that India was not far behind in the score.
Australia’s batting came on the second day and by the end of the second day’s play, Australia scored 61 runs in 12 overs and lost only one wicket, due to which the Indian team became very worried. But the miracle that happened on the third day is not hidden from all of you. Ravindra Jadeja bowled brilliantly and took 7 wickets in the innings and all out the Australian team for just 113 runs.
At the end of the first innings, Australia had a lead of only 1 run and Australia were all out for only 113 runs in their second innings, leaving India a target of only 115 runs. India achieved the target very easily and won the match by 6 wickets.
For India, Rohit Sharma played an inning of 31 runs and Cheteshwar Pujara remained unbeaten after scoring 31 runs. This test match will be memorable for India, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli because Virat Kohli completed his 25000 international runs in this test match and his name has become the fastest to score 25000 international runs. That was Pujara’s 100th Test match. India has become the number one team in all three formats by winning the second Test match in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023-24.
