Ratan Tata is one of the richest people in India. Though he is very rich his humble nature and extremely philanthropic nature won many hearts of the citizens of India. He could have easily qualified for the top 5 richest men in the world but for his charitable demeanour. There are 29 listed companies in the Tata group conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, India.

The group founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868 grew in the hands of Ratan Tata. Let’s go through Ratan Tata’s profile and lifestyle who has made Tata name household name in India. Jamsetji is often referred to as the” Father of Indian industry”.

Ratan Tata is highly educated. He did his graduation from the prestigious Cornell University, in America and later acquired a management degree from Harvard Business school. He joined  Tata in 1961 and succeeded later in JRD Tata.

He is a bachelor still now because he could not marry the girl he loved. It so happened that he fell in love with one girl when he was working in an architectural firm in Los Angeles. He came close to marriage four times but could not. So, he thought there was no marriage in fate and remained to lead a bachelor’s life.

He resides in Mumbai in a simple bungalow. He has two pet dogs and likes spending time with them.

He owns several flamboyant cars like Ferrari or Land Rover etc. and goes for a drive.

His parents got separated at the tender age of 7. He was brought up by his grandmother. Speculation is ripe that this could have impacted his mind about marriage.

In his youth when he was studying in the USA he got a job offer from IBM America. But he refused it and joined his family business. Needless to say, he brought his family business to worldwide acclaim.

One of his hobbies is flying aeroplanes. He is trained as a licensed pilot and has a private jet.
