Reliance Jio is now the first and only operator to provide 5G services in the majority of these cities thanks to the most recent rollout of 5G services.
On March 15, Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries (RIL), began offering 5G services in 34 additional locations across 10 states, bringing the total number of places in which it is currently available to 365 cities across the country.
The current cities covered are :- Amalapuram, Dharmavaram, Kavali, Tanuku, Tuni, Vinukonda (Andhra Pradesh), Bhiwani, Jind, Kaithal, Rewari (Haryana), Dharamshala, Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), Baramulla, Kathua, Katra, Sopore (Jammu & Kashmir), Haveri, Karwar, Ranebennur (Karnataka), Attingal (Kerala), Tura (Meghalaya), Bhawanipatna, Jatani, Khordha, Sundargarh (Odisha), Ambur, Chidambaram, Namakkal, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivakasi, Tiruchengode, Viluppuram (Tamil Nadu), Suryapet (Telangana), on the basis of a media release.
With this, Reliance Jio has become the first and only operator to provide 5G services in the majority of these cities. The telecom division of Reliance Industries announced in a statement that from March 15, Jio subscribers in these cities will be welcomed to take advantage of the Jio Welcome Offer, which will provide them access to unlimited data at rates of up to 1 Gbps+ at no additional cost.
According to the telecom, users in the region would benefit from development potential with the introduction of Jio’s True 5G services in the fields of e-governance, education, automation, artificial intelligence, gaming, healthcare, agriculture, IT, and SMEs.
A Jio spokesperson commented on the announcement, saying, “We are thrilled to implement Jio True 5G in these 34 cities. This is a salute to the millions of Jio subscribers in these cities who will soon begin taking use of Jio Real 5G technology. To ensure that every Indian has access to True-5G, Jio engineers are working around the clock. This will allow all Indians to benefit from the technology’s transformative potential and exponential growth in benefits.
Jio has announced the expansion of its connectivity services to 27 locations across 13 states.
Jio added 5.3 million net subscribers in the December quarter, while gross additions in the third quarter of FY23 were high at 34.2 million, according to RIL. An improved subscriber mix led to an increase in average revenue per user (ARPU) of 17.5 percent YoY to Rs 178.20 per subscriber per month.
