RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for flyers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand from January 01, 2023, onwards. Before travel, the passengers would have to upload their RT-CPR report on the Air Suvidha Portal.

  • Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, on his Twitter Account, posted that it is mandatory for all the flyers to submit their RT-PCR report before the travel 
  • This restriction applies to seven countries including China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.

The outbreak of the BF.7 variant of the corona has created a clamour in China, which is an alarming situation for the rest of the world too. To avoid the circumstances which would lead to a situation of lockdown and a shutdown of the economy, people all around the world are trying to take the necessary precautions.

The Union Health Minister of India has prompted people to wear masks and take all the necessary precautions. The Ministry is also taking steps to make requisite preparations in the hospitals in case of any emergency situation arising in the country.

Keeping in view the rise in covid cases to 268 in the last 24 hours, while the active cases increased to 3552 with a death count of two as per the data updated by the ministry, International travellers from China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand will have to compulsorily bring RT-PCR test reports 72 hours prior to departure from January 1, 2023.

They would also have to mandatorily fill up the Self Declaration Forms of  Air Suvidha for declaring their Covid-19 status and there would be testing of these passengers at the Airport too, which has already started. The passengers who are found symptomatic or those who test positive for Covid-19 on their arrival would be put into quarantine.

Conclusion 

Consequently, all the flyers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand are strictly required to have their RT-PCR test conducted and have the same duly uploaded on the Air Suvidha Portal.
