The immunization programme has been going on in our country for a long but it is for the first time that a state successfully conducted a trial to deliver 400 doses of Diphtheria Tetanus(DPT) and Penta to the chief medical officer’s office in Uttarkashi dist if Uttarakhand.
It was delivered from Dehradun to the border district of Uttarkashi in just 40 minutes using drone technology. Before, medicines normally via roadways took 5-6 hours to reach their destination in Uttarkashi. It’s a big achievement by the health department now with the help of technology we will be able to reach any destination in a time-bound manner.
The medical health and education department secretary said now the state will be able to deliver medicines or vaccines in a time-bound manner and drone technology is also capable of delivering medicines if any disaster occurs. Drone technology will maintain availability on time and the health department will not be delayed to distribute medicines.
Kumar said the department will maintain the availability of vaccines in all the medical units of Uttarakhand so that the vaccination of eligible beneficiaries is easy.
