Infosys president Mohit Joshi resigned from his post after a long and successful career in the company to join its adversary Tech Mahindra. Declaring the news to the Bombay Stock Exchange, Infosys stated that his last day with the firm would be June 9, 2023, but he would be on leave from March 11.
Joshi is taking a parallel step to the previous president of Infosys, Ravi Kumar, who was appointed as the CEO of Cognizant recently. His resignation will have a significant impact on the Infosys board of directors. He was in charge of Infosys’ financial services and healthcare/life sciences businesses.
The company made a final attempt to keep Mr Joshi but he demanded a higher position in the establishment. Tech Mahindra assigned him the role of chief executive officer and managing director for a duration of five years starting from December 20, 2023, to December 19, 2028.
He has worked as the chairman of Edgeverve Systems, where he was given the responsibility to execute a software business that covered Finacle, a global banking platform. He guided sales operations and brought success to Infosys. He held administrative authority when it came to huge contracts in the company. He was also accountable for Infosys’ inside technology and applications portfolio.
In the release statement given to the BSE, Infosys said, “ Infosys, a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, today announced the resignation of Mohit Joshi, President. Effective March 11, 2023, he will be on leave and his last date with the company would be June 9, 2023.
