RRR directed by Rajamouli won an award at the Golden Globe Award.
The Golden Globe award came with its 80th edition, held on Jan 10th, and Jan 11th in India.
The event was held privately because of a protest against the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Due to this, the winners were announced through a press release.
This year it was a more special occasion for India as SS Rajamouli had two nominations lined up, The film was nominated for “Best picture -Non-English Language and Best original song Naatu Naatu”.

The song was shot in front of Ukraine president Voldymer Zelensky’s official residence in 2021.
Composer MM Keeravani said he was thrilled by the song’s success. Several Indians congratulated the team and expressed their joy including PM Narendra Modi.PM Narendra Modi said the “prestigious honor gas made every Indian Proud”.
Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman called the win a “paradigm shift”.
Not only that, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan wrote that he started to dance to the song Natu Natu to celebrate the win.
The efforts put in to make the song
Earlier, in January, the makers of the song talked with BBC Telugu about their efforts.
The choreographer of the song, Prem Rakshith revealed that he composed nearly 90 steps with various signature steps only for the chorus. He said, “it took 19 months from the discussion to the finalized song”.He added that he Mix matched dance versions and various genres including Gangnam style.
Rajamouli wanted a kind of song where two actors seem to be competing with each other and dancing. On the advice of Keeravani, lyricist Chandrabose wrote the song, he said the song should be exciting and enthusiastic.
RRR lost to Argentina in the best non -English picture category.
