Recent reports state that Anjali Singh, a 20-year-old woman, was struck by a car and carried by the five-man driver for more than ten kilometres. The police and autopsy investigations confirmed on Tuesday that there were no sexual assault-related injuries and that the death was actually brought on by the person dragging the body around in an inhumane manner.

The deceased body of Anjali was discovered in Delhi’s Kanjhawala neighbourhood. According to the reports, a Baleno automobile struck Anjali’s scooter before dragging her for a little over an hour from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala, which is over 10 km, and there were no sexual assault injuries on the victim’s body. Anjali and her friend Nidhi were shown exiting a hotel after a party, where her scooter was parked in the parking lot, in CCTV footage that the cops had found. It was seen that the two girls were fighting over who got to ride the scooter, according to the Police. The victim was accompanied by her at the time of the incident, according to the CCTV footage, thus she was not by herself. The Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Sahar Preet Hooda, Delhi, acknowledged and confirmed the same during a press conference.

The Police had also confirmed that both the ladies were present in the hotel that night as their names were registered in the hotel’s records. Various people’s statements were recorded by the Delhi Police. Also noted was Nidhi’s statement. In her statement, Nidhi claimed that she had been there that evening with Anjali and had left after the incident as a result of her being afraid and choosing not to inform anyone about what had happened. Nidhi also stated that there were no injuries on her body and was left unhurt. The Police had also confirmed that both the ladies were present in the hotel that night as their names were registered in the hotel’s records.
The inquiry has been ongoing nonstop. Throughout the inquiry, the Police had taken down a great deal of testimony and questioned a lot of persons. The accused had been apprehended as a result of the investigation, statements, and evidence. Deepak Khanna, Amit Khanna, Krishan, Mithun, and Manoj Mittal are the names of the five suspects, who have all been taken into custody by the police.
