SRK Pathaan Box office entry opens with $51 crores on the first day of collection

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan released in theaters on January 25. The film is already a huge blockbuster at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan was back on the screens as the lead in Pathaan, and it was a day of celebration for Bollywood buffs. Shows for Pathaan were even increased due to high demand. Needless to say, Pathaan has set the box office on fire as expected. 

Pathaan, which was released on January 26, has taken the box office by storm. Also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the film had broken records in terms of advance bookings. Pathaan recorded the highest pre-release ticket sales for a Bollywood film. Pathaan has set a new path of the biggest advance booking for an Indian film post-pandemic, beating Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2. The Box Office Worldwide tweeted, “Exclusive HISTORIC BLOCKBUSTER #ShahRukhKhan Starrer #Pathaan Set To Cross 110 Cr Nett By Tomorrow, Heavy Demands Forced YRF To Increase Shows From Midnight Today!”

According to the Box Office Worldwide, Pathaan will collect a whopping Rs 175 crore globally on the second day of its release. It wrote, “#Pathaan #Pathan #PathaanDay1 Wed 53-57 cr nett Thu 56-60 cr nett Total 109-117 cr nett Eyes RECORD worldwide 160-175 cr nett in 2 days!”

Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham have come together for the first time in Pathaan. The film is written and directed by Siddharth Anand and bankrolled by Yash Raj Films. It is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. It is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe, and is Khan’s comeback film after Zero (2018). The movie released on January 25, 2023, along with dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu. Shah Rukh Khan is seen as Pathaan, a RAW field agent, in the film. The music of Pathaan is composed by Vishal–Shekhar and the score is composed by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara.

As per a report by Box Office India, “Pathaan has recorded a spellbound opening day at the box office as it takes a ₹50-51 crore nett collection in its Hindi version, as per early estimates.” The report added that the action film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, has stole over the non-holiday records by leaps and bounds as Bahubali.

On Wednesday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share Pathaan’s estimated first day collections at national chains. According to him, the film did a competitive business of ₹25.05 crore till Wednesday evening, which was better than what Hrithik Roshan’s War ₹19.67 crore made on its first day at multiplex chains. He tweeted, “Pathaan at national chains… Day 1… update PVR: ₹11.40 crore, INOX: ₹8.75 crore, Cinepolis ₹4.90 crore. Total: ₹25.05 crore. Entire a wholesome SUPERB.

Earlier, Adarsh had told PTI that Pathaan will revive Bollywood and will mark the beginning of a fantastic 2023 for the film industry. He had said before Pathaan’s release, The box office revival will begin with Pathaan, especially looking at its advance booking, which is very rare. It is a great start to 2023 despite being a working day.”
