Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved centrally patronized scheme-Vibrant townlets Programme for the fiscal year 2022-23 to 2025-26 with fiscal allocation of Rs 4,800 crores, said Union Minister Anurag Thakur in a press conference. It’ll lead to structured development and livelihood opportunities in four countries and one Union Territory along the northern borders, he said in the conference. The programme will help encourage people to stay in their native locales on the border.
The scheme aids to identify and develop profitable motorists grounded on original, natural, mortal and other coffers of the townlets on the northern border and development of growth centres on “Hub and Spoke Model” through creation of social entrepreneurship, commission of youth and women through skill development and entrepreneurship. The government has also decided to establish two lakh multipurpose PACS Dairy Fishery Cooperatives in the coming five times. A Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) and feasible dairy cooperatives will be established in each uncovered Panchayat/village.
While talking about the scheme, Thakur stated that it’ll enable collaborative societies to set up and contemporize necessary structure. The scheme will help to strengthen India’s collaborative sector and to consolidate its reach up to the grassroots, said Thakur. “It’ll give planter members with needful forward and backward liaison and enhance their income and will induce employment openings in pastoral areas,” he added.
