Manish Gurwani, the DDO of Valsad upon visiting government schools in Kaprada and Dharampur talukas realised that there is lack of mestrual hygiene knowledge. This project would be completed in the first week of March and benefitting 18,000 girls.
This project could be initiated through the funds collected from government grants. An awareness campaign was done before launching it. “To ensure a success and optimum utilisation of the initiative, we held a series of awareness sessions at these schools. After educating the girls about its importance, are installing the machines,” said Gurwani.
The machines would be installed the women’s washrooms under a nodal officer and a teacher in charge. The pads would be supplied on a regular basis by the government.
