Dr Saurabh Garg is the present Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Nandan Nilekani was the first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UIDAI.
The first Aadhaar card holder in India is Ranjana Sonawane in 2010 – 29th September at Maharashtra state.
Aadhaar misuse:
By knowing your Aadhaar number, others will not be able to misuse your details. This is a serious matter because the Aadhaar card contains a lot of critical data. Biometric (facial recognition, fingerprints, both iris), and personal details (name, address, phone number, email address, photography)
According to the HuffPost India report, the Aadhaar card database will be compromised by using a software patch. In this way, an unknown person can generate a new Aadhaar card by misusing the patch. It will be freely available for INR 2,500. The investigation revealed that the 1 billion Indian user details could be compromised by a software patch.
Using this software patch, critical authentication of biometrics can be bypassed, generating an unauthorized Aadhaar card number. The patch can reduce the sensitivity of an iris and spoof photography.
French security expert Elliot Alderson raises a question to the UIDAI that is “Why the UIDAI helpline number stored in many people’s mobile phones without knowing their knowledge?” And three internationally reputed experts analysed the patch and claimed that there was a chance for data breaching.
“Handle your data safely because, in modern times, information is wealth”.
