The Congress party requests re-polling in some booths in Nagaland. They’ll claim that the BJP party’s individuals are capturing the polls illegally. In the case that the petitioner, Ajoy Kumar, sent a letter to the “Elections Commission of India,”
In that petition, Ajoy Kumar said the polls were captured by the BJP individuals and tampered with in Aolengden and Tizit.
He claimed that voters in six out of the 17 polling booths in Aolengden were not allowed to vote properly, while the NDPP candidates prevented the voters from entering the polling booths in 1, 2, and 3 in Ungama village.
What is the role of EC ?
The Election Commission is an autonomous body. It came under the Union government. The Indian Constitution gives full rights to the Election Commission to conduct the election autonomously.
