Four years since Pulwama attack; tribute to 40 CRPF Jawans

February 14th of 2023 marks the fourth year of remembrance of the gruesome Pulwama attack, that took the lives of 40 CRPF Jawans. The mishap took place when a group of vehicles carrying security personnel through the Kashmir Srinagar highway was bombed by a suicide bomber in Lethpora, Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The attack resulted in the death of all the 40 Jawans who were traveling in the military van leaving none alive. The attack was, as a result of immense planning, this attack was carried out by a man named Adil Ahmad Dar, a local resident of Pulwama who belonged to the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed(JeM). This group claimed responsibility for the attack, which in turn created a spark of anger, arouse condemnation and broke outrage all over India.

This attack created tensions between India and Pakistan which increased gradually and India’s government responded by taking diplomatic, economic and military actions against Pakistan. In response to this, India turned to aim at the terrorist based in Kashmir that is managed by Pakistan, which was viewed as a significant uptick in hostilities between both the countries. The attack created triggers throughout the world with regard to the death of 40 CRPF Jawans. It was denounced by the world community, with numerous nations voicing their support for India and demanding action against terrorism. The incident was denounced by United Nations and United States, who also demanded that those responsible for the attack must be brought into account.

The Pulwama incident serves as a sobering reminder of the persistent threat caused by Terrorism and this incident also calls for greater and better international coordination and collaboration in the combat against this scourge. To fight terrorism and guarantee that those responsible for such horrible atrocities are held accountable, the international community must keep cooperating.

Somewhere people were celebrating their Valentine’s Day with red roses. Miles away, the CRPF Jawans were battling for their Bharat Mata with red blood. Jai Hind!

The Incident in Pulwama attack on February 14th, 2019, was sad and will never leave the living hearts of India and will live on in the pages of India’s history forever. The anniversary serves as a reminder of the necessity to continue being vigilant against the threat of terrorism while the nation continues to mourn the death of its gallant warriors.
