India made world record by defeating Pakistan in T20 World Cup

The Indian women’s cricket team registered its biggest run chase and victory in its first match against the Pakistan women’s cricket team in the T20 World Cup. India was given a target of 150 runs in 20 overs by Pakistan, in response to which India chased this target in 19 overs and registered a world record.

This is India’s biggest run chase in the T20 World Cup.  Earlier, the biggest run chase was also against Pakistan, in which India chased 134 runs on 11 November 2018.

India has so far played 10 matches against Pakistan in ICC events, out of which India has won 8 and lost 2. This record is very good and that’s why there is always pressure on the Pakistan team to break the record and the Indian team is also under pressure to maintain the record.

This t20 world cup is being organized in South Africa and it was a good and exciting match even on the hard pitches of South Africa, in which India won in 19th over.

Top performances 

After winning the toss, Pakistan decided to bat first, which proved to be right for them to a large extent.  Good bowling from India and Pakistan were restricted to 149. 

The best innings from Pakistan was played by their captain Bismah Maroof who scored 68 runs in 55 balls to help his team reach a score of 149. Pakistan’s middle order seemed to be collapsing, but Ayesha Naseem came and scored 43 off 25 balls to show that Pakistan’s middle order is strong and her fiery innings helped Pakistan reach a respectable score.

The best bowling from India was done by Radha Yadav, who took two wickets for 21 runs in four overs. Pooja Vastrakar took one wicket for 30 runs in 4 overs. His bowling was average. Deepti Sharma did take a wicket but gave away 39 runs in 4 overs which proved to be very costly. 

Jemimah Rodrigues played the best and most responsible innings from India. Jemimah gave victory to India by scoring 53 runs in 38 balls with the help of 8 fours. Jemimah also received the player of the match award.

India’s opening pair got off to a strong start but Yastika was dismissed early.  But Shefali Verma scored 33 runs in 25 balls. Supporting Jemimah and played an important role in India’s victory.  Richa Ghosh, who scored 31 runs in 20 balls, kept the innings in the last and did not let the pressure on Jemimah.
