Opposition protesting with the demand of JPC on Gautam Adani

On Tuesday opposition party again protested in parliament premises with the demand of JPC against Adani. On the matter of Adani stock manipulation, all opposition looks very aggressive and all of the opposition also looks together in this while protesting against the current government. The opposition was also seen raising slogans of “we want JPC” inside the house. But will government form the JPC? It didn’t look like a possibility. On Tuesdays, Rahul Gandhi asks questions to the prime minister. But on Wednesday, instead of giving the answer on Adani, and his relation with Adani, prime minister Modi starts counting the failure of the UPA government.

What is JPC? JPC is a committee formed by the parliament to investigate a particular matter. Opposition is asking to form the committee and for this committee to head by or be monitored by the chief justice of India. In the last 8 years, JPC has not been formed on any matter. It’s not the first time when opposition is demanding a JPC from the current government, they also demanded it for the Rafale deal and demonetization. But it didn’t happen. And in the allegation against Adani, the situation is not looking so different. The government is keeping silence on this matter, the prime minister is keeping silence, SBI and LIC are saying they didn’t face any loss. SBI says the loan they give to Adani group is not even 1% of what they have given in the market. There is no doubt about that. But there is no answer on how are they going to recover the money. When the whole world is seeing a stock going down how can an organization be so stress-free for their money, which is more than 20000 crores.

Opposition is continuously demanding for JPC, but the government is keeping silence on this. There is news if SEBI, ED or any other special committee going to investigate that. If there is an allegation against someone, it is the least we can do, investigate. And even after 15 days of the Hindenberg report, the government still has to take action against it. Why is this government so slow?

If a thief gets a chance to escape he will escape. If someone gets a chance to get rid of evidence they will get rid of it. If there is the slightest chance that Adani did fraud, isn’t he getting a chance to escape and cover up his wrongdoing?
