Woman creates bomb scare, attacks CISF officer at Bengaluru airport

A 31-year-old woman was arrested by the police for allegedly creating a bomb scare and attacking a CISF officer at the boarding gate of Kempe Gowda International Airport (KIA) on Friday. The woman is named Manasi Satheebainu a resident of the Kozhikode district of Kerala. The incident took place between 8:15 am and 8:40 am. The Karnataka police have registered a case against her based on a complaint that was filed by Sandeep Singh, a CISF officer. The complaint was filed by Singh, who alleged that he was deployed at boarding gate no.6 in the morning shift (6 am to 1 pm). The accused reached the gate and was supposed to take indigo Flight 6E445 to Kolkata.

The accused turned up to Singh around 8:20 am and informed him that she needed to reach Kolkata on an emergency basis. At this point, the accused Manasi threatened that she would create a bomb explosion at the airport if she failed to reach Kolkata on time. Mr. Singh tried to convince her to be calm and wait patiently as he has to follow the standard procedures but she, instead of doing so, held up the uniform collar of Mr. Singh, kicked him on his abdomen, punched him in the face, pulled him and abused him. When Singh asked her to wait as he needed to follow standard procedures, Manasi threatened to blow the airport up with a bomb.

The accused named Manasi created a total fuss in the airport by giving false statements d bringing total chaos to the people. She also tried to scare other passengers by screaming that, there is a bomb planted at the airport and that all had to vacate the place immediately if they wanted to save their lives. The officials tried to explain to some of the panicked passengers that the threat was a hoax. Singh added in the complaint. It was Singh’s colleagues who rushed to his help 

It all started with the woman asking the CISF staff to allow her to board the flight without following the due procedures. As soon as the chaotic situation was witnessed the higher officials were informed and they gathered at the spot and detained Manasi. CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) officials handed over her to BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Limited) police for further course of action. The police registered a case under IPC sections 505, 323, and 353. Members of Manasi’s family deeply apologized to the police and said she was “disturbed” over some issue.
