3 civilians killed in Russian attack in Kherson

Kiev claimed that 3 civilians were killed in the Russian attack in Kherson, Ukraine.  Ukrainian President Zelensky said that Russian forces launched a rocket attack on this southern city on Saturday.  He commented that it was a brutal terrorist attack.

Ukrainian forces captured Kherson in November after an eight-month siege.  However, the Russian army is regularly bombarding the area from above the Dnipro River

Meanwhile, while most of the eastern frontline Bakhmut is under Russian control, the British Ministry of Defense claims that Ukraine is preventing Russian troops from advancing.

On the other hand, Kiev has demanded the restoration of electricity connection in Kharkiv, which was damaged by the Russian bombing.  But still 15 thousand people are without electricity.  More than 40 Russian missiles hit Kharkiv alone this year.

Bakhmut is a city in eastern Ukraine.  The two sides are fiercely fighting for the possession of the city.  Ukraine claims it controls most of the city.  On the other hand, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Russian mercenary Vagnar Group, claimed on Wednesday that his forces had captured almost the entire eastern part of Bakhmut.

All-out war in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022.  More than a year later, neither Russia nor Ukraine have achieved the desired results.

Many analysts said Moscow could make a big breakthrough in Ukraine this winter.  In reality, that didn’t happen either.  However, in recent times, Russian forces have intensified missile-drone attacks across Ukraine.  Ground fighting is also going on.

Ukrainian President Zelensky called it a brutal terrorist attack.
