What happened?
(AP) LAS VEGAS — While on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, last month, UFC President Dana White was caught on camera striking his wife, Anne.
In an interview with TMZ on Tuesday, White expressed his “embarrassment” and concern for the impact on his three children.
“There’s never ever a justification for a guy to put his hands on a woman,” I’ve been saying for years, and now here I am on TMZ talking about it,” White told the website.
UFC spokesman Chris Costello said neither the organization nor White would issue a statement to The Associated Press. Costello referred to White’s comments to TMZ.
The pair can be seen bickering in the video before Anne White smacks her husband, who then responds by slapping back before others step in.
Anne White told TMZ that she and Dana have been married for almost 30 years. It would be an understatement to say that this is out of character for him; never before has anything such occurred. On New Year’s Eve, unfortunately, we were both drinking too much and things went out of hand on both sides. As a family, we have discussed this and offered our condolences to one another. For the sake of our children, I only hope that others will respect our privacy.
