Bachelor of Applied Geology Geology is the study of the Earth, sometimes known as Earth Science. It is concerned with studying the liquid and solid stuff that makes up the Earth’s surface. A geology course comprehends and studies how the Earth’s whole system functions. It consists of landforms, processes, elements, and history. This branch of study also studies the physical components of the Earth and processes such as landslides, floods, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and so on. It investigates the creation of the Earth and its evolution over 4.4 billion years.

Course Duration of Bachelor in Applied Geology

The duration for a diploma in geology is 1 year, whereas it takes 3 years to complete a Bachelor’s degree. For a master’s and doctorate, it takes 2 years and 3 years respectively.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have obtained at least 55% in Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent.

After passing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, students can enrol in specialized courses at IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Kharagpur (PCM). JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is used to select applicants for an Integrated Program in Geophysical Exploration. It’s a five-year programme
Candidates must have a B.Tech/M.Sc/BE degree as well as GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) qualification to enrol in M.Tech in Geology and Geophysics. An M.Tech in Geology and Geophysics curriculum lasts three years.
