Boyfriend stabs 26-yr-old doctor to death, before attempting suicide in J&K

Dr. Sumedha Sharma, who had a bright future ahead of her, was mercilessly killed by Johar Ganai, who claimed to love her. The incident has once again highlighted the fact that love and obsession are two different things and that one should never take extreme steps in the name of love.

 The police responded to the information and hurried the accused adolescent to a hospital where he was treated. An investigation has also started, in addition to the case being filed.

Who is Dr Sumedha Sharma?

Officials have identified the female doctor as Dr Sumedha Sharma, the daughter of  Kamal Kishore Sharma. Johar Ganai, the son of Mahmood Ganai and a resident of Bhaderwah, Doda district, has been listed as the accused. The accused Johar Ganai’s family presently resides in Pamposh Colony.

“Police got a call from a relative of the accused, indicating that he had published on his Facebook handle his plans to commit suicide, and johar was discovered in a severe condition in a restroom,” police added.

When the police came to Johar’s Janipur residence after obtaining the information, the gate was closed from the outside. As the police entered the residence, they discovered Dr. Sumedha’s body on the ground, drenched with blood, while accused Johar’s body had damage marks.

 Did police save the life of accused ?

The police response to the incident was commendable, and they were able to save Johar Ganai’s life by taking him to the hospital promptly. However, nothing can bring back the life of Dr. Sumedha Sharma, who was an asset to the medical community and a beacon of hope for her family and friends.

Following that, officers took him to the hospital. When the court procedure was concluded, Sumedha’s body was delivered to her family members. The accused has a serious condition. He is being treated at the Government Medical College in Jammu. A murder inquiry has been launched by the police.

Sumedha Sharma and the accused Johar allegedly had a love affair, according to reports. They had received their BDS from Jammu Dental College. Sumedha Sharma, an MDS student in a college outside of Jammu and Kashmir, had gone home for Holi.

On March 7, Dr. Sumedha went to her lover’s residence in Janipur after the two had an argument about something. Johar murdered Sumedha with a kitchen knife at the time, and then attempted suicide with the same knife. As a result, Johar was severely injured.

The cops are investigating everything. Simultaneously, the relatives of the accused and the deceased refuse to comment on the matter. The authorities are doing more inquiry on the motive.

The tragedy has left the families of both the victim and the accused shattered, and they are going through an extremely difficult time. The police have launched a murder inquiry and are investigating the motive behind the crime.
