Life Cycle model of Interaction Design

UID

Interaction design is a workflow chart that guides the developer and designer to create interactive products. Interaction design is a highly crucial concept in the technical field. According to the HCI field, the interaction design is a fully conceptualized design that satisfies user expectations based on their purpose and requirements.

The life cycle model is divided into four steps from the beginning to the final product. In this article, we are going to discuss the interaction design life cycle model so keep reading this article.

About the Life Cycle model

The interaction design life cycle model consists of stages which are including requirements, designing alternatives prototyping, and the equality process. Interaction design offers flexibility compared to AgileUX. It is user-oriented because interaction design is an iterative process.

Establishing requirements

From the variety of designer alternatives, it will be very easy for the designer side to create the interaction design workflow or cycle. Meanwhile, user engagement also plays a vital role at each stage which will make it much easier to evaluate the final product and its result too. Therefore, designers also focus on the atheistic and systematic aspect of the system which helps the developer and the designer to understand the system accurately.

Designing Alternatives:

In the interaction design process, we need to understand the problems faced before establishing requirements. The user always needed analyzed, justified, and refined activities.

Data collecting and analyzing methods are common to evaluate and determine the requirements. Meanwhile minor and major adjustment is required in the process of interaction design.

Prototyping

Interaction design is more concerned with usability so a component and its behavior do not always have to be imitated in the real world. In the third stage of prototyping, interaction design offers the freedom to choose prototype creation using the terms low fidelity and high fidelity in between.

 Evaluating:

The result is a solid foundation for the next process that you can see further. In this cyclical process, you can understand the story the of interaction between the personas and the system. The conceptual model is always helpful to set the idea in mind about how to organize and operate the application. The object, attribute, and operation bring more details to the designer as the best foundation for the last stage.

Final Product:

Prototype plays a vital role here to look and feel like the final product is completely functional and interactive. So the final product must be conducted in an interaction design life cycle model.

The final stage of evaluation is where three types of evolution are considered first one is a controlled setting, the second one is a natural setting and the third one is a setting without a user.

In conclusion, interaction design is recommended for developing interactive digital products. From to the above figure, you will get an idea about the interaction design life cycle model. Subsequently, we have learned that it is a total user center approach and involves the user in the workflow. When we discuss the workflow of the interaction design, we know about the life cycle model that we have discussed above in this article.
