NSA Advisor Ajit Doval met with his counterpart US NSA Jake Sullivan and many other top officials to discuss the advancement of defence and technological ties between both countries.

On an official trip to Washington, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with his US counterparts to discuss defence ties between the two countries.

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan welcomed Doval at the White House to “launch the next milestone” in the strategic technology and defence partnership.

Sullivan tweeted on Wednesday that together they will deliver their people and economies while continuing to advance a free and open Indo-Pacific.

“Honoured to welcome Indian National Security Advisor Doval to the White House to launch the next milestone in the U.S.-India strategic technology and defence partnership. Together, we will deliver for our people and economies, and continue to advance a free and open Indo-Pacific,” Sullivan tweeted.

Taranjit Singh Sandhu, India’s Ambassador to the US hosted Doval at India house along with Senators Mark Warner and John Corryn while holding talks on advancing ties.

Sandhu tweeted, “Pleasure to host NSA Ajit Doval, Senator @MarkWarner & Senator @JohnCornyn, Chair & Member of the Select Committee on Intelligence & co-chairs of the India Caucus, at India House. Important conversation on advancing ties.”

Apart from his meeting with the US NSA, Doval also met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, Acting Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks along with various senators and industry leaders.

He is also scheduled to meet with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken later during the visit.

The meeting between the two NSAs was the inaugural meeting of the initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden during their meeting in Tokyo in May 2022 announced the initiative between the two nations.

The iCET meeting provided both countries to share their ideas for bolstering high technology partnerships between governments, industry, and academia, the press release stated.
