Congress Party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ comes to an end

Earlier on 29th January 2023, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi unfurled the national flag at the Lal Chowk area in Srinagar where the padyatra concluded. On the eve of the events culmination, Rahul Gandhi said that Bharat Jodo Yatra has been his life’s “deepest and most beautiful experience”.

Rahul tweets in hindi, “ By hoisting the tricolor at Lal Chowk, the promise made to India was fulfilled today. Hate will lose, love will always win. There will be new dawn of hopes in India.”

Today on 30th January 2023, Congress Party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ officially comes to an end at the party’s headquarer in Srinagar. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders unfurled the tricolor in Srinagar today amidst a heavy sheet of snow. A memorial was also unveiled for Bharat Jodo Yatra at the event.

As many as 12 opposition parties joined the closing ceremony rally which took place after the event. However, not all the party leaders could make it to the event held at the Sher-e-Kashmir stadium.

Rahul Gandhi’s ‘padyatra’ addressed a total of 12 public meetings, 13 press conferences and over 100 corner meetings. More than 100 sitting interactions and over 275 planned walking interactions also held.

Rahul Gandhi at the press conference said that during his 4000 km journey he has learned and understood a lot. His Yatra has a countrywide effect though it might went from south to North.

The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, a walking campaign against India’s poor economic conditions and inequalities began on September 7 2022 from Kanyakumari. Rahul Gandhi has described it to be fight against “politics of fear, bigotry and prejudice.
