Popular Culture  and role of the Media in Popular Culture

We appreciate culture both as an individual and as a society, and we celebrate it. It is possible to separate manners, art, religion, conventions, and other cultural elements. And it is passed down from one generation to the next, particularly in India where we genuinely adhere to our religious and cultural traditions.

There are more than 2000 different cultures in the world, but there may be even more due to a large number of communities, each of which has dozens of different cultures with distinctive ways of thinking. Nobody should be embarrassed to introduce the rest of the world to their culture and beliefs.

Everyone celebrates their traditions in a special fashion of their own, and it can be said with sufficient assurance that everyone else does the same. Popular culture is another name for pop culture. Everybody over the world observes it, and it is incredibly well-liked across all civilizations. Pop cultural codes can be found in a variety of mediums, including music, fashion, dance, entertainment, television, and so on.

Young people, especially members of generation Z and millennials who are about to enter their early 20s, are the biggest fans of pop culture. Pop culture includes various fads in music, clothing, and entertainment that people genuinely follow and love.

The history of pop culture is as varied as the genre itself.  When pop culture first emerged in the late 1800s, young adults embraced it immediately. Simply said, pop culture has always been a means of expressing who you are, and your creativity, and shattering the strange cult of the upper class.

The media has had a big influence on how popular culture spreads. The only channels for introducing and promoting new social trends among young people are the media and the internet.

Social media, which includes television, magazines, the internet, and other mass media, are used by close to 70% of the world’s population. Different civilizations have interacted and been introduced to people all around the world thanks to the media.

We can see how many foreigners participate in and enjoy our Indian rituals and festivals in the same way that we do here, and we can see how proud we are to have developed such a rich culture, especially when it is observed by a large number of people around the world and is accompanied by many happy faces.

Pop culture was first popularised in the United States and the United Kingdom, where 50% of the population still engages in it now. There are already a lot of people working in pop music, fashion, entertainment, dance, and other related sectors since people have become so immersed in pop culture’s rising trends in recent years.

If observed, some people in our environment value staying current with fashion and would go to great lengths to associate with others who share their preferences for music, clothing, and other things. Pop culture originated in America and the United Kingdom, so it makes sense that residents of both countries would join together to celebrate their heritage.

Pop culture has grown in popularity among young people and has had a profound impact on many people’s thinking. Social media is used by almost half of the world’s population, who are affected by what they see and hear.

Pop culture, which can include anything from pop music to pop fashion to pop art to pop film to pop religion, is attracting people from all over the world. And it’s encouraging to see how people are stepping up to the plate. The way we view the world has undergone countless alterations because of pop culture.

The lives of women have been significantly impacted. Remember when women were viewed as things and were not permitted to leave their homes? Because they did not have a beautiful figure, plus-size women were traditionally considered to be unattractive, but this was because society had not accepted them

. Because of the emergence of pop culture, men, as well as women, have had their perceptions altered. If everyone followed their culture, the world might be a better place. People have learned through pop culture to accept themselves as they are and believe their ideas are more valuable than those of others.

It has taught us the importance of self-worth and self-love. People who are experiencing stress and anxiety can benefit from celebrating pop culture as therapy. People who are engaged in their struggles sometimes find refuge in pop culture. Pop culture is a distraction that helps people enjoy the present.

Pop culture includes a wide range of things, including music, fashion, religion, beliefs, and so forth. The media, including newspapers, magazines, television, and social media, has been crucial in presenting pop culture.

The 1990s saw the emergence of pop culture, which included several components like people’s expanding interest in jazz and rock music as well as nightclubs and other places.

For many people, pop culture is a way of life; it challenges social norms and fosters an odd cult, especially among teenagers, members of generation Z, and millennials who are about to enter adulthood. It has influenced the minds of children and teenagers in a  favourable way.
